MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has described the first leg of his County Tour as successful.
President Weah, on the First Leg of his tour, visited six counties, including Bong, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Rivergee, Maryland and Grand Kru Counties.
Speaking to reporters over the weekend, the Liberian Leader said:” The main objective of my visit to the Counties was to appreciate the people for electing me to the Presidency, understand challenges they are being faced with, and to also dedicate development projects.’
President Weah further noted that the Government is now in the position to address some of the people’s concerns, after series of interactions with them during the County tour.
Meanwhile, President George Weah says the lighting up of Sasstown in Grand Kru County, for the first time, has brought great relieve to the people of the area.
At the same time, the contractor for the Sasstown Lighting Project, the Asian Liberian Investment Incorporated, says the Light Poles being planted have a lifespan of at least Twenty-five years.
According to the Company, the light poles were planted with quality cement to withstand the wind.
Speaking to reporters at the commissioning of the Sasstown Street Light, the Sales Manager, Jeremiah Sandiman, however, appealed to the citizens of Felokri in Sasstown to help protect the poles.
Mr. Sandiman affirmed the Company’s commitment to working along with the Liberian Government to light up major streets in the Country.
Meanwhile, several Grand Kru County citizens are commending the Government for the lighting of Sasstown, terming the initiative as historic and fist of its kind in the history of Sasstown.
