MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The World Health Organization (WHO) Country Representative in Liberia says the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines have an efficiency rating of almost Sixty-seven percent.
However, Dr. Peter Clement clarified that the vaccines in African Countries, including Liberia, are not the same vaccines that have been suspended by some European Countries due to side effects.
The WHO Country Representative told ELBC Thursday, March 18, 2021, that there has been no report of side effect of the AstraZeneca vaccines under the COVAX initiative.
Dr. Peter Clement urged Liberians to take the vaccines instead of panicking about news of side effect from the vaccines in Europe.
Meanwhile, Dr. Clement has disclosed that while the vaccines are being rolled out in Africa, the WHO and partners have also setup a committee to investigate the effect of the AstraZeneca vaccines.
