LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Several storm victims in Voinjama and Salayea Districts, in Lofa County, are appealing to Government and humanitarian organizations to come to their aid.
According to ELBC Upper Lofa County Correspondent, heavy storm recently destroyed their homes, including the Tellewoyan Public School in Gbalakpalisu and Johns Town in Voinjama and Beyan Town in Salayea Districts.
Our Correspondent said:” Some of the houses in the three communities were de-roofed, while others were completely destroyed.”
According to our Correspondent, over thirty family heads are presently seeking shelter at public buildings and homes of relatives.
In another development, several traditional leaders, women and youth in Voinjama are currently undergoing a six–day training organized by the Carter Center.
Our Correspondent said the training is aimed at strengthening the capacity of traditional leaders and women to promote good governance and community justice practices.
