LOWER MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah and entourage have returned home, after successfully participating in the 59th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State of ECOWAS in Accra, Ghana.
The President arrived via the Roberts International Airport (RIA) on Monday, June 21, 2021.
At the conference, President Weah proffered some useful suggestions on how member states of ECOWAS can mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on economies in the region.
President wants the private sector to form joint ventures and economies of scale, to strengthen production capacity in the wake of a decline in new investments, due to the pandemic,
The Liberian also called for a well-coordinated support from multilateral partners, directly targeting programs that will promote economic growth and development.
President George Weah said that through collaboration and well-coordinated support, the impact of COVID-19 on regional economies will be minimized.
