MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah is urging Liberians and foreign residents to consider the wearing of masks as an everyday activity.

In a Special Statement on Sunday, June 27, 2021, President Weah said:” Wearing nose and face masks is very important in the fight against COVID-19 as well as saving lives.”

The Liberian Leader said people should keep wearing their masks whether sick or not, as the Coronavirus does not pick and choose.

President wants Liberians to continue to observe social distancing and hand washing in keeping with the health protocols.

President George Weah further urged Liberians and foreign residents to join the campaign to educate and help each other in staying safe and healthy.

Meanwhile, a COVID-19 patient has made an appeal for Liberians to take seriously the revised health protocols to avoid contracting the virus.

Mrs. Sangai Brisbane, whose husband is a Coronavirus patient too, said that the virus is real, deadly and should not be taken for granted, and it still remains unclear as to how she contracted the virus.

She was speaking to ELBC on Saturday, June 26,2021, when health authorities gave the station a rare access to the Coronavirus Treatment Units on Star Base, Bushrod Island.

She lauded health authorities at the unit for their diligent work aimed at saving lives, and appealed to well meaning-Liberians and foreign partners to render support to the health sector at this critical time.

Mrs. Brisbane said more oxygen tanks are desperately needed in the treatment unit, given the increasing number of cases brought to the facility daily.
