MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Monrovia City Court has lifted Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission travel ban against five public officials.
Monrovia City Court Judge Jomah Jallah Monday, August 23, 2021, restored the suspended and dismissed public officials’ freedom, based on an application filed by their lawyers.
The officials are former Liberia Airport Authority boss, Allen Klayee, the suspended Water and Sewer Corporation Managing Director, Duannah Kamara, suspended Port of Buchanan Manager, Charles Gull, Amara Kamara and George Youh.
Judge Jallah’s rulling claimed that there is no matter before the court surrounding the officials and as such it was necessary to dismiss the LACC travel restrictions consistent with the law.
Prior to the court decision, LACC Chief Prosecutor Cllr. Jerry Garlowolo filed an application to the court, seeking for a travel ban which was granted by the same court.
Cllr. Garlawolo, at the same time claimed that the five officials were undergoing criminal investigation and should not be allowed to leave the country.
