MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Three police officers have been arrested in connection with the death of a truck driver in Monrovia.
Their arrest followed a release of an autopsy report on the remains of the late Alieu Sheriff on Tuesday, August 30, 2021. The autopsy was done at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Sinkor, Monrovia.
The report said Alieu’s death was unnatural and was caused by a blunt force injury at the back of his head.
Acting Justice Minister Cllr. Nyenati Tuan released the report to the public at a special Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT) press briefing Wednesday, August 31, 2021 in Monrovia.
Those arrested are officers Samuel Borbor, Harris Monger and Alexander Seakour.
They are said to have beaten Alieu Sheriff on July 29, 2021, at the National Transit Authority (NTA)’s Bus Parking in Gardnerville, an act that eventually caused his death.
Meanwhile, Cllr. Tuan said:” The suspects will be charged in the next forty-eight hours, and sent to court for prosecution”.
