GBARNGA, LIBERIA-The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, says President George Weah’s commitment to supporting agriculture in the Country remains unbeatable.
Minister McGill said:” Such commitment is exemplified by President Weah’s personal involvement in farming in Nimba, Grand Bassa and Grand Kru Counties.”
He noted that the Liberian Leader has given an instruction to cabinet ministers to establish farms in their native counties, to boost agriculture productivity.
The Minister of State made the remark over the weekend, during his tour of his cocoa nursery at the Central Agriculture Research Institute (CARI), in Suakoko, Bong County.
According to him, the cocoa nursery was established with help from agriculturists and CARI Director General, Dr. Victor Sumo, as a way of heeding to President Weah’s mandate.
For his part, Dr. Sumo said:” The nursery program is expected to be expanded to other crops, to revitalize agriculture and attract other officials of government into the sector.”
