MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah says he is deeply saddened by the dreadful loss of lives in Freetown, Sierra Leone, following an explosion of an oil tanker.
The incident happened on Friday, November 5, 2021, when the tanker reportedly collided with another vehicle in a densely populated Freetown City area, leaving almost hundred persons dead and many more badly injured.
According to Executive Mansion release issued over the weekend, President Weah described the accident as a major tragedy for the region.
President Weah called on Liberians to pray for and with Sierra Leone, as the Country recovers from the consequence of such terrifying incident.
The Liberian Leader also extended heartfelt condolences to his counterpart, President Julius Maada Bio, the Government and people of Sierra Leone, families of the deceased, and all those impacted by the accident.
The Liberia Chief Executive offered the Country‘s full support and assistance, as the Sierra Leonean Authorities begins efforts to treat the injured and recover the dead.
