MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS has reaffirmed its demand for the unconditional release of ousted Guinean President Professor Alpha Condé.
ECOWAS wants the Guinean Authorities to urgently submit a detailed timetable of activities to be carried out, under the transition towards the holding of elections.
The ECOWAS, however, said it has taken note of recent developments, including the adoption of transition chapter and appointment of civilian Prime Minister in Guinea.
Meanwhile, the ECOWAS Authority has upheld the suspension of Guinea, as well as the travel ban and freeze of financial assets imposed on the members of the Military Junta and their family members.
The decisions were contained in a communique released at the end of the Third Extraordinary Summit held Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Accra, Ghana.
The Summit was convened by ECOWAS Chairman, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana to review the political developments in Guinea and Mali.
