KINSHASA, DRC-Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has addressed the International Forum for Enterprising and Dynamic Women (FIED) taking place in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The forum, according to a recent dispatch, is one of Africa’s biggest gatherings of women, offering a platform for intellectual exchanges on issues of women empowerment.
The Liberian Vice President argued that the historical struggle for Africa’s liberation was for freedom from slavery and economic freedom.
She proffered that the freedom from slavery, which ended in the 19190s, after Namibia was freed from Apartheid rule, in no way suggests that the struggle for economic freedom is over.
Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor admonished the audience that the struggle for economic freedom is an ongoing struggle, which requires collective efforts across the African Continent.
