MONROVIA LIBERIA (ELBC ONLINE) – The National Under 17-Female Team of Liberia got a 4-0 victory over Niger at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on yesterday, January 12, 2020.

Liberia took a lead in the 13th minutes of the match through striker, Mamie Kallon, when she scored the opener. Kallon’s exceptional opening goal is being considered currently one of the greatest goals of the qualifying rounds.

The spectacular strike that earned the Liberian Female team, according to sports fans can be compared to one of Zinedine Zidane’s miraculous strikes against Bayer Leverkusen of Germany in the UEFA Champions League finals, which made Real Madrid Champions 2002.

A  hat-trick, followed later  by Blessing Kieh who netted  Liberia’s second goal after converting a penalty spot kick in the 29th minute of the game to closed for the first half break.  Highly inspired Kieh, in the 75th minute also sealed another in the six minutes of the second half of the game.

Liberia’s Coach, Jenkins Doe, said the Liberia- Niger march was a comprehensive victory but noted that  his girls however,  would have won by a bigger margin had they made use of all the chances created.

Coach Doe has made his intention clear  to take Liberia to the finals in India with the support of the Liberia Football Association(LFA) President, Mustapha Raji, members of the Executive Committee of the LFA.

“I am happy today for this victory. What we got today reflect our put during trainings”. Coach Doe said: “In the past, we had the players but there was no motivation, if we had, we would have been to the World Cup finals.”

“From what we practiced and what we put in, we never expected four goals. We missed a lot of chances. So we can only prepare and look forward to the second leg,” said Doe.
