PUL Welcomes Prez. Weah’s ‘Presidential Investigative Committee’

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has welcomed the constitution of a ‘Presidential Investigative Committee’ by President George Weah, to look into complaints of brutality against some members of the media by state securities.

A released issued Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Monrovia, said: “The PUL   has no objection of the credibility of persons named on the ‘Presidential Investigative Committee’ including its former President, Peter Quaqua”.

Meanwhile, PUL President, Charles Coffey in consultation with the union’s leadership has named a six member committee to work along with the ‘Presidential Investigative Committee’ in investigating the matter.

Those named on the Committee are Journalists Frank Sainwola, Cecelia Clark, Cllr. Bobby Livingston, Alphonso Toweh, Rohodoxon Fayiah and Fcia Harris.

The committee is mandated to work along with the ‘Presidential Investigative Committee’ and report within 10 days.
