Monrovia-Liberia, The Government of Liberia has assured civil servants of its commitment to salary payment amid the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Government, through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has already begun processing civil servants salaries for the Month of June 2020.
The MFDP statement dismissed claims in some quarters that the government could not meet up with salary obligation due to revenue challenges.
In a statement, the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning placed particular emphasis on the timely payment of teachers, healthcare workers and other civil servants.
The government said despite the COVID-19 Pandemic and its effect on the economy, it will always ensure that government workers get their monthly salaries on time.
The MFDP statement also assured the public it is working assiduously to ensure salaries of all civil servants are made current, before the end of the fiscal year 2019/2020.
The new fiscal budget year comes into effect as of July 1, 2020.
