National Elections Commission’s former Chairman wants Transparency in Future Elections

MONROVIA, LIBERIA -The former Chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC), Cllr. Frances Johnson-Allison, is urging the Commission to ensure a free, fair and transparent electoral process in Liberia.

Cllr. Johnson -Allison also called on Liberians to denounce election violence.

He made the call over the weekend at the NEC Headquarters in Sinkor at a Roundtable Dialogue on the upcoming Special Senatorial Elections in the Country.

Cllr.  Johnson-Allison also noted that it is the responsibility of political party leaders and voters to abide by electoral guidelines and other processes during future elections in Liberia.

At the same time, the former NEC Chairman criticized Legislators for failing to fulfill their promises to the people whom they represent.

The Dialogue was held under the theme,” Inclusive and Non-Violent Elections, organized by the Peace Building Office of Liberia, with funding from the Embassy of Ireland.
