Maryland County Religious Council wants Gov speedily investigate murder case

MARYLAND COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Religious Council of Maryland County wants the Liberian Government speedily investigate the death of a forty-year old man, allegedly murdered by unknown men in the county.

According to ELBC Maryland County Correspondent, the man was found dead recently in his bath tub with a blood stained knife lying by him.

The Head of the Council, Rev. Cyrus Tugbeh, wants the quick intervention of the Police in the County, to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Rev. Tugbeh said:” The situation has instilled fear among inhabitants in the area.”

In another development, reports from Maryland County say several high school students in the County have begun receiving nose masks.

According to ELBC Maryland County Correspondent, the distribution is intended to curtail the spread of COVID-19 among students preparing to sit the WASSCE Exams, in August this year.

Our Correspondent said:” The distribution is being carried out by the South East Women Organization and the Voluntary for Healthy Liberia, respectively.”

Speaking at the Fatima High School recently, Harper City Mayor, Blessing Howard, praised the two the institutions for their initiative.

Madam Howard said:” The masks distribution will also be extended to all high schools in Grand Kru and River Gee Counties.”
