MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Authorities of the Liberia National Police, the National Identification Registry, Liberia Immigration Service, and the National Security Agency are expected to appear Thursday before the House of Representatives.
Plenary reached the decision Tuesday, October 6, 2020, following a communication submitted by Montserrado County District #2 Representative, Jimmy Smith.
Representative Smith, wants those citied to give reasons why Liberians should have confidence in the National Identification Registry process.
The Montserrado Lawmaker said a NIR machine identified and assigned to Margibi County was allegedly taken to Jacob Town for the issuance of multiple ID Cards in the possession of the LNP following its intervention.
Representative Smith said the act is intended to subvert the sanctity of Liberian citizenship and democracy.
