MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has appointed the Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) to temporarily manage the 14 Goba Chop Market in Paynesville.

The modern market was constructed by the Liberian Government, through the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE).

Last week President Weah postponed the dedication of the market, and commissioned an investigation into ongoing leadership crisis between the leadership of the market and the Liberia Marketing Association.

But addressing the Executive Mansion regular press briefing Tuesday, October 6, 2020, Presidential Press Secretary Solo Kelgbeh said the market dedication is expected to take place on Friday, October 9, 2020.

Mr. Kelgbeh said:” The PCC will ensure spots are equitably distributed among marketers and the market is kept clean at all times.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Kelgbeh said the investigation that was commissioned by the President is still being done by LACE Boss Kwewu Yeke.
