LOWER MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia says it is making tremendous progress in the Housing Sector of the Country.
ELBC Reporter said President George Weah spoke on behalf of Government, when he inspected the ongoing construction of five- thousand Housing Units along the Roberts International Airport Highway in Margibi County.
President Weah said:” The Government, with support from partners, is succeeding in the construction of several housing units in Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, Margibi and Montserrado Counties.”
The Liberian Leader said he is pleased with the level of work done by the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE).
President Weah noted that the pace at which the housing units are being constructed signifies Government’s readiness to improve the Country’s infrastructure development.
Meanwhile, President Weah has lauded the NHA and partners for the successful implementation of the project.
At the same time, NHA Managing Director, Celia Cuffy-Brown, says a total of forty-five-thousand housing units are expected to be constructed in the area.
Madam Cuffy-Brown said:” The current construction is Phase One of the projects targeting five-thousand housing units.
According to her, the project will go for a period of five years.
The NHA Boss spoke Thursday, October 8, 2020, when she addressed reporters, after President Weah toured the facility in lower Margibi County.
She said the prices will vary from twenty-thousand United States Dollars onward for low and middle income earners.
Meanwhile, Margibi County District #2 Representative, Ivor Jones, has lauded the Government for selecting Margibi County to construct the forty-five-thousand housing units.
Representative Jones said” Margibi County continues to benefit from the administration of President Weah.”
He named the 14 Military Hospital, granting residents of Unification City legal right to the land and the ongoing construction of the housing units among others, as projects in the County.
Representative Jones also paid tribute to President Weah for taking steps, on behalf of Government, to expand the Roberts International Highway.
The CDC Senatorial Candidate said the people of Margibi County made no mistakes by joining other Counties to overwhelmingly vote President Weah in 2017.
