MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Forestry Development Authority (FDA) is calling for dialogue in the ongoing conflict over the Doru Community Forest in Nimba County.

FDA Managing Director, Mike Doryen, warned of far-reaching consequences, especially for the development of the area, if the dialogue is not sought.

A long-running disagreement has ensued among citizens of Doru, with the filing of a lawsuit against a logging company operating in the Doru community, Liberia Tree and Trading Cooperation.

The FDA Boss also wants funds generated from community forest used to provide basic social services for the residents.
