Pres. Weah declares Sixteen Days of Activism in Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has declared Wednesday, November 25 through Thursday, December 10, Sixteen Days of Activism in Liberia.

The event will be observed across the Country as a Working Holiday.

The Proclamation quotes President Weah as calling on Government ministries and agencies, local and international organizations, the Children’s Parliament, the United Nations System to join the Gender Ministry, among others, to implement appropriate programs befitting the occasion.

A Foreign Ministry release issued Monday, November 23, 2020, said the Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence is a global campaign dedicated to end Gender-Based Violence, and highlight other dates in observance of the Day.

The release also said on November 25 will be celebrated as International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 29-International Women Human Rights Defenders Day, and on December 1-World Aids Day, while on December 3-International Day of Disabled Persons, among others.
