Foreign Minister pays courtesy call on LBS Management, assures govt’s support

PAYNESVILLE, LIBERIA – Foreign Minister, Dee Maxwell Kemayah, says he will work with the Liberia Broadcasting System to ensure the entity’s programs are disseminated across Liberia.

Minister Kemayah said his collaboration with LBS is in line with government’s vision of ensuring that Liberians are adequately informed about government’s policies and programs.

He reemphasized the vital role LBS in promoting all aspects of Liberia’s development agenda.

Minister Kemayah spoke Tuesday when he and Chinese Ambassador accredited to Liberia Ren Yisheng paid a courtesy call on the LBS Management in Paynesville.

In a related development, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Ren Yisheng, says he is impressed by the media partnership between LBS and the Liberian Government.

Ambassador Ren said such partnership has encouraged the Chinese Government to continue its support to the local media, particularly the LBS.

He described the media as crucial to the promotion of economic development, culture, Foreign policy and peace.

Ambassador Ren made the assertion Tuesday in Paynesville when he and Liberia’s Foreign Minister Dee Maxwell Kemayah toured the facilities of the Liberia Broadcasting System.

Meanwhile, LBS Director General, Madam Estella Liberty – Kemoh said with the new tripartite arrangement, the Liberia Broadcasting System is fully positioned to lead the broadcast sector of Liberia.

Madam Liberty – Kemoh reiterated LBS Management’s commitment to disseminate government policies and programs to Liberians both at home and in the Diaspora.

She also said the visit of Foreign Minister Dee Maxwell Kemayah and Ambassador Ren Yisheng to LBS further strengthened the existing partnership.

Madam Liberty – Kemoh, however praised the efforts of LBS’s current Board Chair, Information Minister, Ledgerhood Rennie for the level of cooperation with the System’s Management team.
