RIVER GEE COUNTY, LIBERIA-The people of River Gee County and parts of Maryland County are expected to benefit from a major electricity project sponsored by the Liberian Government.
It followed the ground breaking for the construction of an electric power dam by President George Weah on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in Wlehbo, River Gee County.
The dam project, according to contractors, is worth about eighteen-million United States Dollars.
According to them, the construction of the dam is being undertaken by the Liberian Government, through the Liberia Rural Renewable Energy Agency.
At the ground breaking ceremony, contractors briefed the Liberian Leader that when the project is done, the dam would supply power to River Gee County and parts of Maryland County.
Meanwhile, President Weah has described the project as a milestone in the energy sector of Liberia.
