GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah has broken grounds for the construction of a modern high school in Kinjor, Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County.
President Weah said:” When completed, the technical high school will help provide technical skills and training for Liberians and residents in that part of the Country.”
Speaking Saturday, March 27, 2021, in Kinjo, at the close of his second leg County Tour, President Weah reassured Liberian youth of Government’s commitment to providing the necessary materials to improve education in Liberia.
At the same time, the Liberian Leader is urging educators and professors to produce books for Liberian schools to help ease the pressure associated with learning in Liberia.
President George Weah said:” Liberia’s school system should stop depending on books from other countries to educate the young people, when Liberia has professors who can write books for Liberian school children.”
In another development, the Government of Liberia says it will not allow disputes from the Mid-Term Senatorial Election to drag the progress of the Country.
President George Weah called on the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Candidate, Victor Watson, to allow peace to prevail in the County, regardless of election.
Senator Watson who was seeking a re-election in Grand Cape Mount County had rejected the December 8, 2020, Senatorial Election results, after the National Elections Commission (NEC) announced his opponent Simeon Taylor winner.
This had delayed the induction of Mr. Taylor as Senator of the County.
President Weah urged Senator Watson to consider the election over and go back to status quo.
President Weah said:” The CDC is a party that respects the laws of the Country, and Senator Watson should wait for another time.”
