The money is in the tune of forty-eight-billion-seven-hundred-thirty-four-million dollars.
The decision followed a report from the Joint Committee on Banking and Currency, Ways, Means, Finance and Budget, Judiciary, Public Accounts and Audit.
The Committee, in its report, recommended that the Senate should concur with the House of Representatives in the passage of the request of the Central Bank, to print new Liberian currency.
The denomination to be printed includes twenty, fifty, hundred and five-hundred, while additional five and ten dollars will be minted in coins.
The Committee, among other things, said the printing of the banknotes and minting of coins shall be undertaken in 2021 and 2022.
