MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) says the Liberian Government has been rated highly in the US Government 2020 Human Right Report, for creating an enabling environment for refugees in the Country.
LRRRC Executive Director, Rev. Festus Logan, said:” The refugee population in Liberia has been treated with dignity and respect.”
Rev. Logan said about twenty-nine-thousand-one-hundred-twenty-five Ivoirians are currently seeking refuge in Liberia.
He disclosed that the refugees are situated in Nimba, Maryland, Grand Gedeh and River Gee Counties.
Rev. Logan explained that the over twenty-nine-thousand refugees fled their Country for fear of potential election violence in 2020.
Meanwhile, the LRRRC Boss said that the Government and partners have transformed the Bahn Refugee Camp into a settlement, to accommodate Ivoirian refugees wishing to be integrated into the Liberian society.
