PARIS, FRANCE-President George Weah has arrived in Paris, France, to participate in the 2021 Generational Equality Forum.
This year’s forum brings together Heads of State, multilateral partners, civil society organizations and youth and private sector activists.
According to an Executive Mansion release issued over the weekend, President Weah is expected to meet the President of France, Emmanuel Macro, on the margins of the forum.
Their discussion will focus on peace and security and other issues aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
President Weah is expected to address to the forum on the need for world leaders to make concrete and sustainable commitments towards achieving gender equality.
The three-day forum will also galvanize a multi-stakeholder ecosystem to advance gender equality to ensure sustainability and accountability.
The Liberian Leader is attending the forum with several officials of government, including Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemajah, Defense Minister Daniel Ziankahn, Gender and Children Protection Minister, Willamette Saydee-Tarr and the Chief Executive of the Liberia Maritime Authority, among others.
Meanwhile, while the President is away, Finance Minister Samuel Tweah will chair the cabinet, in consultation with the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia.
At the same time, Liberia’s Information Minister, Ledgerhood Rennie, has dismissed as untrue reports that President George Weah is travelling to Paris, France, with a thirty-seven member delegation.
Minister Rennie clarified that the number of persons travelling with the President is thirteen.
He added that all members of the President’s tour, ranging from security personnel to support staff have their respective duties and responsibilities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the President.
