Liberia slightly relaxes COVID-19 restrictions amid decline in new infections

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Liberian Government has slightly relaxed the Covid-19 Health restrictions imposed to curb the third wave of the virus in the country.

The Health Ministry has moved the 9-pm closure of entertainment centers to 11 pm while churches can now be used to conduct funeral services for non covid-19 bodies.            

Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah said people entering the Country will still be tested upon arrival at the various ports of entry.

Minister Jallah said if positive, the affected person will be transferred to the nearby treatment unit.

She said all individuals who will be tested positive for Covid-19 are subjected to Liberia’s case management guidelines and that violator would face prosecution in line with the public health laws of the County.

Meanwhile, the Liberian Government has lifted the travel ban imposed on Citizens of India, Bangladesh and other Countries.
