MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce and the Liberia National Police (LNP) are investigating a Cameroonian lady for alleged human trafficking.

Madam Violet Njuakom is being held for allegedly trafficking three fellow Cameroonians using Liberia as a transit point to Poland and Mexico.

Speaking Friday, September 17, 2021, to the Taskforce authorities at the LNP Headquarters, Madam Njuakom said she and her boyfriend, Gerald Ajongowe, came to Liberia three months ago with the hope of traveling to Canada.

According to her, their Liberian Agent, only identified as “Amandu” had asked them to wait as there was no current opportunity for Canada.

Madam Njuakom said her boyfriend then persuaded the three compatriots back home to come to Liberia because it was a cheaper transit point to get to Europe and the Americas.

The trafficked Cameroonians were charged as high as three thousand five Hundred United States Dollars per person by the couple.
