Executive Mansion frowns at opposition for alleged negative campaign against gov’t

by Joseph Sayon

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Executive Mansion has frowned at Liberian opposition figures who are reportedly lobbying in the United States to paint the image of the country black.

Presidential Press Secretary, Solo Kelgbeh says those behind such negative campaign are mainly hurting the entire citizenry.

He wondered what the opposition politicians will gain by asking the US government not to support Liberia’s development agenda under President George Weah.

Mr. Kelgbeh was responding to reports that certain Liberian opposition politicians were lobbying to deny Liberia qualification for a second Millennium Challenge Compact grant.

He noted that the opposition community’s alleged action shows their lack of vision and determination to work to improve the overall condition of the Country and its people.

Mr. Kelgbeh, at the same time, assured that the recent Arcelor Mittal agreement is in the best interest of the country, especially the concession counties.
