MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie has clarified that the matter concerning the benefits of former President Charles Taylor is before the Supreme Court of Liberia.
Minister Rennie said:” The case was filed with the Supreme Court in 2012 by representatives of the family of the former Liberian President.”
He told the MICAT regular press briefing Thursday, October 28, 2021, that the Supreme Court is yet to make a determination into the case, and pledged the Liberian Government’s commitment to respect whatever decision reached by the Highest Court.
Minister Rennie expressed shocked over reports that a representative of the Taylor Family has filed a lawsuit with the ECOWAS Court, when, in fact, the case is still before the Supreme Court.
The Information Boss noted that the Highest Court is looking into the matter, with indication that it would soon make a determination into the case.
