MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Two Liberian Human Right Lawyers have described recent high profile deaths in the Country as troubling.
The lawyers want the Government of Liberia to do all within its powers to get to the bottom of investigation into those suspected murders.
Speaking at a one day Human Rights Advocacy program Friday, November, 5, 2021, Cllrs. Frances Johnson Allison and Tiawon Gongloe said the killing of people is a complete violation of human rights.
Cllrs. Allison and Gongloe noted that the right to live and liberty need to be protected by the Government, as guaranteed by the law.
They described the deaths of Immigration Officer, Malt Elliot, Liberia’s Peace Ambassador William Tolbert III, and John Tubman as mysterious and need thorough investigation.
The lawyers said such deaths, if not properly checked, could undermine the progressive development, peace and security of the nation.
The one day Human Rights Advocacy Forum was organized by the Foundation for Human Rights Defense.
