by Varflay Kamara

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah is proposing a collective mission to mediate the current political situation in Guinea.

President Weah wants a merge mission of ECOWAS, African Union and the Mano River Union to carry out such task, with support from the United Nations Peace building Commission and Peace building Fund.

The Liberian Leader said:” The Mission could mediate the current Guinea transitional arrangements, and prepare the Country for democratic elections and constitutional democracy.”

He spoke Monday, November 22, 2021, at the start of a two day conference of MRU States in Margibi County, where he delivered the keynote address.

He then urged the Secretary General of the MRU to reach out the African Union and the UN in fostering stronger and more active partnerships on peace building initiatives for the MRU.
