MONROVIA, LIBERIA-ArcelorMittal Liberia says, over the last fifteen years, it has contributed nearly three-hundred-million United States Dollars in revenue to the Government of Liberia.
The Head of Government and Community Relations of ArcelorMittal Liberia, Michael Wleh, said:” The amount is expected to increase with the coming into force of the new agreement with the Liberian Government”.
Mr. Wleh said under the new agreement, the Company is expected to pay seventy-five-thousand USD annually in revenue, and has earmarked nearly four-hundred-thousand worth of projects in its concession areas.
He told ELBC Super Morning Show on Wednesday, November 24,2021, that the Company has paid up to forty-seven-million dollars in Social Development Fund, targeting Nimba, Bong and Grand Bassa Counties.
Mr. Michael Wleh said ArcelorMittal Liberia also provided three-million dollars towards community development and has committed forty-million dollars to pave the Ganta-Yekepa Highway.
