MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Traditional Council of Liberia says it is initiating a mediatory effort to conclude Lofa County Senator-elect, Brownie Samukai’s election saga.
The Head of the Council, Chief Zanzar Karwor, says the mediatory dialogue will involve the Lofa County Senator-elect, the National Elections Commission, the Supreme Court of Liberia and President George Weah.
Chief Karwor asserted that the process is aimed at finding a resolution that will end issues affecting the sitting of Lofa County Senator-elect, Brownie Samukai.
The Traditional Council Chairman said:” It is necessary to halt further disturbances of traditional leaders in the County, who recently staged a protest that affected citizens of the area.”
Addressing a news conference over the weekend, Chief Karwor appealed for calm in Lofa County, as the Traditional Council intervenes in resolving the issue with relevant authorities.
He then called on traditional leaders not to allow themselves to be used as political tools, to fight political battles to appease politicians.
