MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Steering Committee of the Bi-centennial celebrations has apologized to the Religious Community and political parties for not inviting them to the official kickoff event at the Providence Island.

The apology was issued Wednesday, January 12, 2022, by the National Steering Committee, through its Chairman, Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie.

Minister Rennie attributed the Committee’s inability to invite the two groups to oversight by the protocol, which was not intentional.

Minister Rennie said going forward; the two groups will not only be given invitations, but a role to play, especially for the Religious Community.

According to him, the Two-hundredth Anniversary of the establishment of the Liberian State is inclusive of all Liberians, regardless of affiliations.

Minister Rennie also said:” Preparations for the February 14, 2022 launch of the program are ongoing to host foreign guests, including Heads of State.”
