MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has mandated the immediate eviction of properties on a land belonging to the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA) in Charlesville, Margibi County.

According to the LLA, some individuals have built cornerstones and laid foundations on the land very close to the Roberts International Airport (RIA).

Margibi County Land Commissioner, Joe Dorah, told a news conference on Monday, February 28.2022, that not only are the properties built in the wrong place, but they also pose serious security threat to aircrafts.

Commissioner Dorah said:” Those concerned must begin leaving the land or face the full weight of the law.”

The Margibi County Land Commissioner also stated that an investigation has been launched to uncover sellers of lands in the vicinity.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Port Manager at the LAA, James Lomol, has affirmed the Airport Management’s full support to the LLA in its ongoing effort.
