NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Nimba County Prince Johnson has again taken serious exception to what prompted a sanction against him by the United States Treasury Department last year.
Senator Johnson said:” Accusations of war crimes and corruptions in the sanction note are false and misleading and are orchestrated by opposition politicians.”
He also refused to accept that the sanction was imposed by the US Government, saying few individuals in the Treasury Department were used by some opposition figures.
Senator Prince Johnson was speaking over the weekend in Wehplay, District Four, in Nimba County, during program marking the groundbreaking of the construction of an Executive Lodge in the area.
Senator Johnson wondered why the sanction could not come when he served as Chairman on the Senate’s Defense and Security Committee for twelve tears, under former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.
The Nimba County Senator termed it as political ploy against his person and urged citizens of Nimba County not to be deterred, as he remains committed to the development of the County and the Country at large.
