Gov’t of Liberia opens ‘Book of Condolence’ for fallen Statesman, Dr. Amos Sawyer

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has opened a Book of Condolence for former Interim President Amos Sawyer.

President George Weah led an array of Government officials and other dignitaries at the signing ceremony on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion in Monrovia.

The signing is part of a weeklong funeral activity marking Dr. Sawyer’s home-going.

The late Dr. Sawyer former work places, the Governance Commission and the University of Liberia have lined up his legacy celebration programs.

The program will take place on Wednesday, March 30, and Thursday March 31, 2022, at the Monrovia City Hall and the University of Liberia main campus, respectively.

Funeral rites over the remains of Dr. Sawyer will then take place on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Centennial Pavilion on Broad Street, followed by interment at the Kaiser Memorial Lawn outside Monrovia.
