MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Post and Telecommunication has launched the National Postal Delivery Addressing System, in partnership with an international group, SnooCode Limited.

SnooCode is a United Kingdom and Ghana   based Technology Company that provides future-ready location-based solutions to emergency services.

Speaking Monday, April 11, 2022, at the launch, Post and Telecommunications Minister Cooper Kruah said:” The platform will allow citizens and residents generate five to seven digit address code, which can be used to direct their location using mobile phones.”

Minister Kruah said the initiative will also create jobs for Liberians, mainly young people, and boost the Liberian economy.

Also speaking, a member of the SnooCode Technical Team, Derek Laryae, said:” The project will also ensure an efficient emergency response for public services, especially in rural areas.”

He disclosed that the platform will function without internet access, and urged businesses to take ownership of the platform, as an efficient way to deliver goods to their customers.

This SnooCode project is unnecessary because many hundreds of thousands of Liberians use email instead of surface mail and stamp or letter in envelope because of the extremely excessive cost attached. It costs almost L$750.00 or US$5.00 to post a letter to the USA with just one sheet of paper in an envelope.
