MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has criticized Alternative National Congress (ANC) Political Leader, Alexander Cummings, for what he calls his continuous fear-mongering about the sanctity of the 2023 electoral process.
President Weah said:” It is dishonest for Mr. Cummings and others in opposition to be casting premature aspersions on the credibility about next year’s polls.”
He reminded the ANC Leader that Liberia’s democracy is consolidated over time, with the holding of many free and fair elections, some of which were lost by the ruling party.
The Liberian Leader assured Mr. Cummings and the opposition of his unbending commitment to a free, fair and transparent electoral process in 2023.
President Weah wants Mr. Cummings reserve his energy and join him in taking the debate to the people, who are the ultimate decision-makers on the Country’s political leadership.
President George Weah said:” Instead of seeking to use unconstitutional means to circumvent the democratic process, the ANC Leader should be prepared to face him at the ballot box in 2023.”
