MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ambassador of ECOWAS to Liberia has stressed the urgent need for stakeholders to improve Quality Control in the production and trade.
Ambassador Josephine Nkrumah said:” Quality in supply chain management is vital to achieving sustainable growth and development in Liberia and the sub-region.”
Ambassador Nkrumah was speaking over the weekend at program marking World Quality Day in Monrovia.
The ECOWAS Ambassador said:” The region is blessed with products that have the ability to compete at the highest international level, but less quality limits their chances.”
Also speaking, the Deputy Minister for Industry at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Thomas Goba, called for the establishment of policies that drive quality in the private sector.
Minister Goba said:” Quality Control can only be historically achieved if laws are enacted to regulate private traders and manufacturers.”
This year’s World Quality Day is celebrated under the theme: “Quality Conscience: Doing the Right Thing.”
