Court orders GT Bank Liberia Management’s arrest…..

by Fabine W. Kwiah

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Criminal Court ‘A’ has ordered the arrest of GT Bank Liberia Management for contempt of Court.

The arrest is in connection with the disappearance of over twenty-thousand United States Dollars from a female customer’s account at the bank.

The Writ issued by Criminal Court ‘A’ Judge, Roosevelt Willie, was triggered by an application filed to the Court by the female customer’s lawyer to compel the Bank to turn over his client’s bank statement, following the alleged action.

GT Bank Liberia Limited has since confirmed receiving a Writ of Subpoena from the Court in 2022 regarding the matter, but has failed to surrender the account of the customer in question.

In another development, Criminal Court ‘A’ has instructed the joint security, including the INTERPOL, to arrest the living bodies of suspects John Bettie, Adolphus Bettie and others for alleged theft.

Judge Roosevelt Willie’s order was based on a mandate from Associate Justice Jamesetta Wolokollie, following Blama Tamba’s complaint to the Judiciary Committee against Magistrate Eric Cooper of the Bensonville Magisterial Court.

Complainant Tamba accused Magistrate Cooper of reportedly releasing the two suspects without adjudicating a theft by deception case at the Bensonville Magisterial Court.

According to the complaint, Tamba reportedly purchased a parcel of land from suspects John and Adolphus Bettie and others a year ago, but are refusing to issue Administrator Deed for the land.

Meanwhile, court and police officers are in search of the suspects who have gone into hiding to escape justice.
