World Bank Regional Vice Pres., Pres. Weah Ends Tour…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-World Bank Regional Vice President for Central and West Africa, Ousmane Diagana, has acknowledged what he described as “commendable progress” under the Weah-led Administration.

Mr. Diagana said:” Improvements have been made in human capital, infrastructure development and the provision of basis social services, among others.”

The top World Bank Official spoke on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, after he and President George Weah ended a guarded tour of the Bank’s funded projects, including the 6.1 kilometer road from the ELWA Intersection through the Red Light area to the Coca Cola Factory, in Paynesville City.

Mr. Diagana emphasized that the World Bank is satisfied with the implementation status of its programs across the Country.

He further disclosed holding talks with President Weah and officials of his government to ensure that the Bank’s support is maximized to address other challenges confronting the Government.

Also speaking, World Bank Country Director, Pierre Laporte, assured that the Bank will continue to invest in Liberia, while providing its annual allocation to the Country.
