Bong County Lawmakers trade Claims and Counter-Claims…

by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-Two incumbent lawmakers of Bong County are trading claims and counter-claims over the allotment of twenty-five-thousand United States Dollars in the 2023 National Budget for non-existent health center in the County.

Representative Moima Briggs-Mensah   of District-Six argued that the Budget Committee has approved twenty-five-thousand USD for a non-existent Gbondoi Clinic in Bong County.

But in his counter, Representative Marvin Cole of District-Three refuted the claim by his colleague and clarified that the Gbondoi Health Center exists.

Representative Cole said:” The allotment was done in good faith, and not for personal financial gains as being perceived.”

However, ELBC has independently confirmed the allotment of twenty-five-thousand USD for the construction of the health center, though the visibility of the facility remains unclear.

Investigation continues.
