Academic Activities Disrupted At Tubman University in Maryland County

MARYLAND COUNTY, LIBERIA-Normal academic activities have been disrupted at the William V.S Tubman University in Maryland County.

It followed series of protests by students and staff association of the University.

ELBC Correspondent said the Tubman University Staff Association (TUSA) is demanding increment in salary, conducive working environment, among other reasons.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, March 1,2023, TUSA President, Theodore Fahnbulleh, said:” The peaceful protest is intended is also intended to get the administration’s attention on issues of alleged bad labor practices and alleged corruption on campus.”

They are calling on the Administration and Central Government to address the concerns of the aggrieved workers.

The week long protest follows series of protests instituted by students of the institution.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Press and Public Relations Officer at the University, Solo Gaye, refused to comment for now.
