MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) Chairperson is reiterating appeal for negotiation with property owners refusing to grant NEC access to their facilities for the ongoing BVR exercise.

Madam Davidetta Browne-Lansanah said:” Their action could either sabotage the registration process or incur unnecessary expenses on the already fragile budget of the Commission.”

The Commission’s appeal comes amid widespread reports of delays for the commencement of the BVR exercise at some registration centers in Montserrado County.

The NEC Boss, however, expressed satisfaction over the turnout by citizens at the start of the Biometric Voter Registration on Monday, March 20, 2023.

She told ELBC Super Morning Show on Tuesday morning, March 21, 2023, that though there were some technical problems, they were subsequently sorted out.

According to Madam Browne-Lansanah, the issues mainly resulted from lack of understanding by some of NEC’s temporary staff on how to operate the new technology.
