MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has released the official calendar of events leading to the country’s 176th Independence Day celebrations.

Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah said the events include Thursday’s Golden Image Awards held at the Monrovia City Hall.

Minister Kemayah further stated that there will be Thanksgiving and Intercessory Services at the Black Genie Mosque and Philadelphia Central Church on Friday and Sunday, respectively, to seek the face of God for his numerous blessings upon the country.

Meanwhile, Minister Kemayah has named the Chairman of the National Council of Chiefs and Elders of Liberia, Zanzan Karwor, as the 176th In Dependence Day Orator.

The Foreign Minister expressed optimism that Chief Karwor’s message will help citizens sustain the country’s existing peace, ahead of the October 10 Presidential and Legislative Elections.
