Nat’l Elections Commission Receives over $49 Million for Conduct of October 10 Elections…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s National Elections Commission says the Government of Liberia has provided a little over forty-nine million US Dollars to the Commission, for the conduct of the October 10, 2023, Elections.

Speaking at the Senate Hearing on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, NEC Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, said:” The amount represents eighty percent of fifty-three million dollars budget requested.”

Madam Browne-Lansanah said:” The Commission needs the balance of a little over three million dollars to conduct possible run-off elections.”

The NEC Boss has warned against the use of a camera or phone in the voting room for photo taking of the ballot paper.

Madam Davidetta Browne-Lansanah disclosed that the National Elections Commission will work along with the Liberia National Police and other security apparatuses to maintain peace during elections.
