MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has confirmed nominees of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission.

The confirmation followed a report from the Senate’s Committee on Autonomous Agencies on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Those confirmed include Atty. Samuel Darkina, David Wilson, Dr. Miatta Jeh, Randolph Tebbs, and Cllr. Alexandria Zoe, amongst.

The Committee recommended that the nominees have the requisite qualifications and experiences to serve in their respective positions.

Meanwhile, the Senate has placed a stay order on their appointments until the former Commissioner’s financial obligations for the unexpired portion of the tenure are settled.

Meanwhile, the Senate has adjourned for the two-week Special Session following successful deliberations on key national issues.

Senate Pro-tempt Albert Chie named the appearance of the National Elections Commission on its readiness for the pending elections, ratification of Bea Mountain Mining Company’s Agreement, and Public Health Law, as some deliberations during the session.

He said:” The Senate also discussed security issues, including the reported breach of information protocol at the Roberts International Airport, and others.”

The Grand Kru County Lawmaker called on Liberians to remain peaceful as they go about campaigning for candidates of their choice.
